Ghost Glock P80 - Let's get that out of the way. If you are reading this to see if it is easy to build a Polymer 80 Glock, let me answer you now. That's him. It is very easy to do and I believe anyone can do it. Polymer 80 Glocks are very easy to make, and the one I'm reviewing now was made with a lower 80 punch, a Dremel, and a hand drill. It took me a few hours, some sanding, but now it works like a champ. If you're outside, take a shower and do it.
After losing a few wall mounts, let's talk about the Polymer 80 Glock we built and do a quick review. The PF940V2 is a full size model that uses a Glock 17, 22, 34, 24, 35, 31 or 17L slide. Most of us will probably do a Glock 17 or 34. I went with the 17.

Polymer 80 Glocks use Gen 3 parts that are common and easy to find. I picked up a Larry Vickers special edition Glock 17 slide, a Bear Creek Arsenal barrel, as well as a Glock OEM lower parts kit. The Glock kit has an extended magazine well and slide lock.
The Dumbest Glock Build Ever
I find the Poly 80 frame to be superior to the Glock OEM frame in many ways. It's missing the finger holes, which is great. It uses a 19 degree grip angle on the 1911 versus the Glock's 22 degree grip, which feels more comfortable and natural to me. The iron is a true Picatinny rail versus Glock's unique rail system. The rear of the pistol has a notch that cannot be removed with OEM Glock frames. The PF940V2 is basically an Americanized Glock.
As you know, America does it better. All these changes to the lower frame make the Glock more ergonomic and easier to handle. The grip angle of the Polymer80 is more comfortable for me, but that's subjective. It feels more natural, but if you've been behind a Glock for years, it might sound strange to you.
One thing I love about the Polymer80 Glock is the red accessory. Another problem I run into with Glocks is slide bite. If I hold the gun well and hide the slide, it will bite me every time and eventually break the skin. The Polymer 80 frame doesn't provide the same slider bite. The extra grip protects you from these things and also gives you more options to combat mouth lifting.
You won't notice much of a difference in accuracy with the Polymer 80 as long as the gun performs reliably. It will rarely affect frame accuracy. Shooting a gun is more convenient and easier to control. I think the Polymer 80 answered a lot of the criticism the Glock received. Even Glock removed the thumb holes on the last generation of Glock pistols.

The downside of using a non-standard frame is the aftermarket. You lose compatibility with many different cases as well as different frame accessories. It will still respond like some internal triggers. However, plugins like magwell are no longer compatible.
Another drawback is reliability. You have to ask yourself, do you believe in your abilities as a gunsmith? I don't do it alone. I would not use my Polymer80 Glock as a defensive weapon unless forced to. I prefer the Glock OEM pistol for defensive use, although I don't have any reliability issues. The good news is that you can buy a complete Poly 80 frame, but assembling the gun requires an FFL pass on all parts.
The Polymer80 Glock is a fun project and allows you to build your own gun. It's just a project for me. For some people, this may be the easiest way to legally own a firearm. Different state laws make it difficult to buy a gun, and making your own may be the only option. If you're under 21, you can't buy a gun at a gun store, but no federal law prohibits you from making your own. Be sure to check your state's laws.

Problem With Glock 19 P80 Help
Most builders believe that our slides are too stiff when first placed on the frame. This is intentional as the slide must fit the frame perfectly and work by repeatedly sliding the slide. This happened in two of my buildings and the solution was simple. Add lots of lube and start working on the slide. Turn it back and forth. Hundreds of times.
Gradually, my build became so heavy that I palmed to get it to move forward, so eventually I could slide the slide forward slightly to where it would rotate by hand. It took a lot of spinning to get the slide moving. Occasionally I would stop and add lube to the rails and then start over. I also applied heat a few times and used gloves to manipulate the slide and frame.
It sounds boring, but I recommend reading a book, watching a movie with headphones, or finding some other way to distract yourself.
Once he starts moving more freely, he becomes more satisfied. You start to see the whole kit come together and it's very satisfying. Breaking a slide for the first time and turning it all the way around is a great feeling.
My Little P80 G26 Ghost Gun Is Slowly Coming Together
Fire your first round of the Polymer 80 Glock pistol and you'll reach certain milestones with live fire training. This includes, for the first time, complete disarmament.
Shooting a newly built Polymer 80 Glock can be a little frustrating at first. As in the previous step, the new gun must work as a unit to break it. It is not safe to eat on a sunny day, or when you first come to the field. I recommend loading with high quality brass bullets to minimize bullet quality issues. If you want to get some serious crash training, now is the time to go.
Like the manual slide, this takes time. With live shooting training, you will achieve certain milestones. This includes, for the first time, complete disarmament. You'll also notice that the slider runs a little smoother and closes a little. I have maintained the gun very well on the road.
Eventually they will feed and come out and you will be happy. When that happens, it's a great feeling, but you'll run into a little problem or two. Misfeeds are a huge problem with my Polymer80 pistol build and seem to happen once every two or three magazines.

I'm not completely out of remission, but I did about 150 shots before I started eating regularly. Most of them are Winchester White Box 115 grains, but some 124 grain NATO loads were used to see if a little more power would help.
