There are new Legion pistols introduced in early 2019. Some readers have asked me what the "Legion" series of Sig Sauer pistols are. More than three years ago, Sig Sauer introduced its flagship Legion series of select rifle models. The name Legion has its roots in the great Roman armies. Sig says the Legion "remains an elite member among the world's military and professional communities to this day." The Legion Series offers the perfect premium, high-performance upgrades, enhancements and high-quality modifications that experienced professional, global shooters have the input and what they say they need. For example, the newly introduced hammer-operated Sig P938 and Sig P238 micro-compacts join the Sig P226 SAO and Sig P229 as offerings in the Legion series. These Legion pistols are built to meet the demands of elite users. Eventually, the Legion series will include rifles, optics, suppressors and more, according to Sig Sauer.

Another benefit of buying a Legion gun is that people can quickly get the "latest and greatest" custom upgrades and modifications for their Sig pistols from the factory. And you get the included freebies. Sig offers several models in the Legion series, but not all models currently. More Legion pistols are likely to follow. Sig Sauer Legion is an exclusive member access program available only to owners of the Sig Sauer Legion series of firearms. When registering a Legion series weapon, members receive a thermo-molded carrying case, a heavy coin to match the weapon, exclusive access to Legion gear and merchandise, and exclusive communications from Sig Sauer and the Legion.
Sig Sauer P938
Recently, Sig introduced the new Sig Sauer P938 with legions of updates and many additions. This is a micro-compact 1911 single action 9mm pistol. And its 3-inch barrel falls into my "subcompact" category. I bought a Sig P938 a few years ago, recognizing its superior accuracy, and since it has been in my rotation, I had to look at the new, updated Sig P938 in the Legion series. Several readers and shooters have told me that they really liked the original 938, as I did, because of its small footprint, accuracy, nice trigger, and concealed carry dimensions.
My goal is to educate myself on the new Legion's new 938 modifications and upgrades and get them out on the test and evaluation range. According to my advice "Try before you buy", I had to try it for myself and others. Has the trigger press really improved? Are the new day and night scenes as fantastic as they say? Are updates and changes worth the extra cost?
According to my very rough calculations, these extras are over $1,000,000. Trigger upgrade, PVD coating, inspection, sights, grips, etc. They called me "Mr. Thirty".
I was also wondering if it would be suitable for carrying my top sub compact 1911 9mm? Will shooters, including myself, find the supplements helpful? I appreciate Sig Sauer sending me a new Legion 938. I include my original, non-legion 938 in the 21 Best Concealed Carry Rifles in the second edition of my book Concealed Carry and Gun Accessories. So now I want to analyze, compare and rank this new 938 Legion among the best subcompact 1911s, and determine whether or not I recommend it.
Tiffany Blue, P938, Sig Sauer, 9mm, Tiffany Blue Gun,
I would like to start this review by providing the specifications and features of the Sig Sauer 938 Legion micro-compact 1911. Next, I will provide you with two high quality leather holster options that are customized for the 938 Legion, IWB and OWB holsters. Then I will present you criteria and test results to help you analyze the rifle and make the best choice for you. You can add to my criteria to meet your needs and preferences.
I will shoot the 938 Legion and optionally compare it to my other quality micro-compact 1911 9mm to see how it compares to my top concealed carry pistol. Please know that I am not a Sig Sauer employee, nor have I been paid, compensated, gifted or influenced to say anything about guns. I want to be honest and straight forward, how I see the gun to help people from my heart. Based on my testing and analysis of the gun, I would like to give you my thoughts on the pros and cons (if any) and how I would recommend this gun for concealed and concealed carry. What upgrades are available and are they worth the cost?

Kramer Pistol Leather makes a nice, high quality OWB belt vertical sheath holster for this 938 Legion. This is the first holster shown below. This holster carries the gun in a neutral vertical, straight and down, position. The gun rides high on the powerful hip, and the color of the gun is flush with the side for maximum concealment. It has a well-reinforced neck strap that makes it very durable under heavy use.
Kramer Leather also makes a useful IWB Clip Holster that is made from rich, premium cowhide. This is the second holster shown below. The leather is just the right thickness to protect your body against the contours of the gun while providing a decorative profile. The clip is made of high-strength blue-spring steel and will hold up to belts or heavy belts such as blue jeans.
Kramer Holsters would like to offer my readers a 20% discount on all purchases for high quality holsters until April 30, 2019. When ordering, mention ColBen and use discount code "ColBen-USAC20".

Here are just ten of the criteria and factors I use to evaluate each gun, so I will use them to review the Sig Sauer P938 Legion. In addition to my criteria, there are other subjective characteristics that some may like
So, I added them to the last variety of criteria. I must admit that all gun selection decisions involve trade-offs, but I want all my criteria to be met. I determined a possible total score of 100 for each of the ten scoring criteria. You can of course add your own additional criteria and preferences, or mine.
Recognize that there are a number of features, characteristics, pros and cons, and personal criteria to include and take into account and you create your own based on your preferences, preferences, specific needs and uses.
To test and evaluate the Legion 938 I used my standard "Col Ben's Concealed Carry Drill" after cleaning it properly first. You can use my Closed Shot Drill to test and evaluate your rifle. I like the realistic 5-yard and 7-yard ranges to match common distances for personal defense.

I used my above standard concealed carry drill and easily and quickly put 14 of 15 rounds (with magnetic change) into five different size rounds at 5 yards, 7 yards, and then 10 yards. I passed the 3 yard test for the heavier one and shot a total of 200 rounds.
First, I fired a Sig V-Crown 124-grain JHP and 15 of 15 on five round targets at 5 yards and 20 seconds with a magnetic change. I then shot the round targets again at 7 yards and 14 of 15 were inside the circle. My lame excuse is older eyes, not good
